This Monday, I approached my boss to start working with him on when I could have my surgery. I’ve finally put together the money after having lost it twice (with the failure of my company in 2006 and losing my job in 2008) so I am rather sensitive about having this done as soon as I can. Unfortunately, my boss informed me that I can’t have the time off until November/December next year!
I don’t know if I am over reacting, but the thought of this is simply terrifying me! I can’t wait that long since I know that the stress on me, mentally, will once more push me over the edge. So, now I am working with the German and French anti-discrimination authorities to try to see what sort of protection I have from this. Should I have none, I will have no choice but to resign to have this surgery and look for a new job I can start once I have recuperated.
Talk about a bleak outlook for 2010!
