im-off-to-see-the-wizard

No, I’ve not been possessed by Judy Garland and nor have I been on anything silly to brighten this cold and grey Saturday morning! Instead, I have something else to make me smile: A confirmation of my surgery on 24th May. So, sometime a few days before that I shall hop on a plane in the direction of sunny Bangkok and head up to Chonburi to see a certain Dr. Suporn (the wizard, if you haven’t guessed!)

I still don’t know whether my management will let this happen, so at the end of January, I will have another discussion with my boss, this time with a letter of resignation on hand. It’s very clear to me and all around me that waiting until the end of next year is a non-starter, so I’ll have to take this route. As a safety measure, I will have to start looking for another job already, one which I can start once I have completed my recovery. Who knows, I may find the job of my dreams (though I have to say that whilst this job is hugely stressful, it is close to being the perfect job for me).

Well, that’s a nice way to start a Saturday, I think! :)

How wonderful to hear that Emily. Yes, Dr Suporn is a ‘wizard’ to be sure. He was my surgeon too back in 2002 and personally I don’t think there is anyone better. I am glad that you have made the decision to ‘take charge’ of what happens in your life and not have to rely on the whims of others who really don’t understand what all this means to one such as yourself. The 24th May is just over six short months away and that will soon pass over.
I wouldn’t worry too much about your work situation I am sure you’ll find suitable employment later, you are too talented not to! Like Chally said, this news has made my day too! Bless you, love

Thanks, Shirley Anne! Yes, Dr. Suporn is good and after hearing some true horror stories about the surgeons in France and Germany, I made my choice about going to him years ago! I can’t wait to be on my way! :)

Today the tinwoman cried tears of happiness, the lioness danced a jig, the scarecrow sang country and western, and Selyna was ecstatic with joy at your news! It could not happen to a more deserving person, my dearest girlfriend, and together we’ll skip along that yellow brick road x
